What you should know about the new Hyundai Venue

Image
Ahead of its launch on May 21st, the Hyundai Venue has raised considerable interest in the minds of buyers and auto enthusiasts alike. Reasons for the same are not difficult to fathom, considering interest in the Korean brand's products and the need for a compact SUV that is more affordable than the hot-selling Creta.  Along with some stats, here are some of other things you should know about the first compact SUV from Hyundai: 1. More than 10,000 bookings have already been achieved in the past 20 days, as per inside sources at ET Auto 2. For the first time, a car in this segment will be available with connected "Bluelink"technology, which has 33 AI and connected features. Among there, 10 have been devised specifically for India.     3. The three greatest competitors to the Venue are the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV 300 and Tata Nexon. Out of the 26,000 compact SUVs sold every month, roughly 13,000 are units of the Brezza itself 4. In terms of

We know you have been following this space regularly for updates on the latest MG Hector. As per the latest MG Hector news, it has already been revealed ahead of its launch in June 2019. Of course, so far you had been only reading about different specs, both interior and exterior, but it is finally time to see the massive SUV in the flesh, and boy, it sure was a pleasure to get a feel of the UK product in India. Though it already looked big in pictures, trust us, the MG Hector exterior is even bigger in the flesh. Its length of 4655 mm is complemented with a butch-looking black mesh grille, surrounded by delicious dollops of chrome. Its headlamp assembly is in the bumper and DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) are placed just on top. All said and done, the massive overhang may just be a wee bit difficult to get in and out of city traffic. But then, what are highways and expressways really for, if not to let such vehicles express themselves? Parameter Dimensions

Can Hyundai be the new "Venue" for car communication?

Image
Hearing the name Venue does sound a wee bit strange for an SUV. MG is the one projecting a name called Hector to personalise its car, so where exactly does the name Venue come in? May be they are trying to say that in 2019, a Hyundai showroom is the one to be at, is it?   The time has come to try and evaluate if Hyundai Venue will really be a strong contender in the compact SUV segment. For starters, let us take a look at the players already present here: Mahindra XUV 300 - The baby version of the bigger XUV 500 seems to have struck a great chord with youngsters and the rest alike. A great all round vehicle, it certainly has the looks and the build of a top contender in this segment.  Maruti Vitara Brezza - Everything that Maruti touches turns into gold, quite literally. The Brezza is a product that although looks good, does not have the solid feel of an SUV. However, it does score over all others in terms of the Maruti service network.  Tata Nexon - A highly practic

The face behind MG Hector in India

Image
Have you wondered who the smart-looking man appearing in the MG Hector advertisement in India really is? At first glance, many of you may have even thought of him to be straight out a Stark Trek movie. It is none other than Benedict Cumberbatch, a theatre-born UK actor who has entered in a number of stage shows and movies, Avengers being one of them. Cumberbatch has been chosen as the brand ambassador for Hector. He is been shown as a car user who completely enjoys the fact that his SUV talks to him like a regular human being, and identifies him as one. Smart technology for a smart man, wouldn't you say? When chosen to be the ambassador, Benedict Cumberbatch was absolutely thrilled to bits, having grown up in awe of the iconic brand MG. Over the years, he has always been inquisitive about MG Midgets and MGB. As far as career goes, the actor has experimented with different roles across TV shows, stage productions and films, constantly trying to raise the bar. Now this is one v

Can't Keep Calm- MG Hector is coming!

Image
May 15, 2019 is a date which is bound to be blocked in the calendars of most in India, especially auto enthusiasts. It is the day when UK-based automotive company MG Motor UK Limited released its first product, the SUV named Hector in the country. Going by the promotions, the idea of giving a human touch by having AI within a car is bound to capture the fascination of most, unlike any other. MG Hector production has already commenced at the auto manufacturer's plant in Halol, Gujarat. Interestingly, to make way for the new production line, the erstwhile GM facility has been scrapped. Some of the operational units that have been set up for the Hector are: Distribution centre for new parts Brand new body shop New press shop State-of-the-art training facility Testing track At the cost of sounding highly technical, let it also be announced here that MG has installed processes such as robotic roller hemming and advanced robotic spot welding. The objective of having

New Maruti WagonR- is it better than its predecessor?

Image
The legacy of the WagonR in India is virtually unsurmountable. Bands in the late 1990’s and up to 2005 have regularly used it to transport audio equipment. It provides comfortable upright seats and is suitable even for the septagenerians. So, did it really need an upgrade, considering its sales of nearly 10,000 a month? Maruti felt that the new Wagon R 2019 was necessary, and here’s how. For one, the new Wagon R 2019 has more space than before, certainly looking like a grown-up hatchback now, despite being under 4 m in length. The headlights are bolder, closely resembling those of the Ignis, though not quite as stylish. Oh yes, it gives you two options now for power- a 1.0 litre 3-cylinder engine and a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder engine. This single aspect easily beats its competition that comprises of the Santro, Tata Tiago, and its very own Celerio. Step into the vehicle, and its interiors seem miles ahead of the competition. Remember the time when Hyundai Santro’s interiors, wi
