Can Hyundai be the new "Venue" for car communication?

Hearing the name Venue does sound a wee bit strange for an SUV. MG is the one projecting a name called Hector to personalise its car, so where exactly does the name Venue come in? May be they are trying to say that in 2019, a Hyundai showroom is the one to be at, is it?

The time has come to try and evaluate if Hyundai Venue will really be a strong contender in the compact SUV segment. For starters, let us take a look at the players already present here:

Mahindra XUV 300- The baby version of the bigger XUV 500 seems to have struck a great chord with youngsters and the rest alike. A great all round vehicle, it certainly has the looks and the build of a top contender in this segment.

Maruti Vitara Brezza- Everything that Maruti touches turns into gold, quite literally. The Brezza is a product that although looks good, does not have the solid feel of an SUV. However, it does score over all others in terms of the Maruti service network.

Tata Nexon- A highly practical compact SUV, Tata Motors has been riding high on the success of its new products that are designed excellently. The Tigor, Tiago and now the Nexon have literally rewritten the history of the Tata brand. With a buoyant service network, it sure will be hard as hell to beat this well-received vehicle.

Ford EcoSport- One of the very first vehicles to enter the compact SUV space, its features have gone up by leaps and bounds since it was released. It still offers excellent space in the compact SUV space.

Honda WRV- Though the car has been designed well, it hasn't quite tasted success as some of its contemporaries. The segment that buys WRV is still very niche.

Now here are the strong points of the Hyundai Venue, at a glance:

1. Excellent, futuristic exterior design
2/ A service network that is second only to Maruti
3. Easy availability of spare parts
4. Voice Command to operate audio system
5. 2 petrol and 1 diesel option, mated to 1 manual and 2 dual-clutch AT options
6. eSIM technology which allows you to put a SIM card into the car's infotainment system and use a whole set of functions. Out of 33 functions of the Blue Link technology in this car, 10 have been created specifically for India.
7. Colour options that include mono tones of Lava Orange, Denim Blue, Deep Forest, Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red, Star Dust and Polar White.

Pricing will certainly be the key here. Expect it to be priced from INR 7.5 lakh to 13 lakh.
