CONFESSIONS OF A PETROSEXUAL MIND

Some like to drive. Others like to cruise. This refers to the category of persons that belong to the former.

You know you’re being driven by Petrosexuality when-

  1. You agree to go on a long drive with your wife or girlfriend, with the primary objective of being behind the wheel.
  2. You are driving down to your workplace which is 45 minutes away, inspite of a Metro station having been built just 50 metres away from your house.
  3. You segregate your music CDs, based on the music that you listen in your car, versus the music that you would like to listen at home. Rarely shall the two overlap.
  4. The first word that came out (correctly!) from your mouth, as a child, was not Ma, or Papa, but “Car.”
  5. When coming back from school, you would detest going back in the family car, for the love of being in the school bus, with all your friends, sometimes also conscious that the bus has a stereo but your car doesn’t!!!
  6. You still wish you could sit in a remote corner and still play with some of the “dinky” cars that you were crazy about as a child, so that others wouldn’t make fun of you.
  7. When returning home driving, knowing that there are two routes after having arrived close to home, you take the longer one just to drive your vehicle more.
  8. You are usually not allowed to drive your car by your parents, because either you are too inexperienced, or you do not know roads too well. So you decide to take the car with the driver anyway, and midway during the journey, shift into the driver’s seat.
  9. From time to time, you have contemplated choosing the career of a Race Car/Rally Car driver.
  10. You thank god for being born a human being. Had you been born a dog, for example, you would always be chasing cars but never be driving them!! What a sheer waste of life that would be!!

Till the next post, drive safely! Do not drink and drive, and always wear seatbelts.
